1950s Diner Models
The assignment started out as a simple ‘make a table’ and chairs and grew into make an entire livable environment/room. I went a little overboard with how much I modeled, but it received very well in class, so I feel my extra efforts were worth it. Right now, I’ve got three types of seating arrangements, two different table tops, three different drinks, and seven different foods going on in this scene. Each table arrangement is different from all the other ones too. It’s only got some simple shaders on, nothing fancy and just the default Mental Ray physical sun and sky, but I’m hoping to be able to texture and light this piece correctly when I learn all the right skills. The entire scene is modeled to correct real world scale as well, which allowed everything to piece together nicely, but I had to research a lot of everyday objects to figure out what their dimensions were.
I also threw in some renders to highlight the modeling job on some items I personally enjoyed the outcome of.
Everything seen in this scene has been modeled by Brooke Wiler.
